On this page, viewers can access the status of projects managed by the Public Works Department that impact the community. On the left and below you will find recent, current, and future projects. When projects are active, updates will be available on these pages. Please contact the Public Works staff listed on each page for additional information on these projects.



 

Pavement Management Program

The City's Pavement Management Program is the basis for scheduled maintenance for the public streets and alleys in City.  The following is link a past presentation to the Board of Aldermen which details the plan: Major Projects and Pavement Management

Bikeable Walkable Communities Plan

The cities of Clayton, Brentwood, Richmond Heights and Maplewood worked in partnership with Trailnet to develop the Bikeable Walkable Communities Plan in 2009.  The effort to update this plan is currently taking place as part of the Livable Community Master Plan and is expected to be complete mid-2024.

Traffic Calming Program

The City's Traffic Calming Program was adopted by the Board of Alderman in 2022 and outlines steps taken in addressing neighborhood traffic concerns.  While many of the elements of the plan have been in practice by staff for some time, other aspect are new and the program will further develop over time.  

On-Call Consultants

In order to help the City complete projects on schedule, the City solicited qualifications from consulting firms in 2023. The Public Works Department reviewed the submittals and selected three firms in each category. The firms on the list below were selected and will be signing a three year on-call contract.

Roadways Maintained by Others

The following roadways/right-of-way are within the city limits of Clayton, but are under the authority of another agency.  Please see below for the agency with authority over these roadways, links to report a problem, and links to project updates.
