Orders of Protection are court orders prohibiting an individual from abusing, molesting, threatening, communicating with, committing domestic violence or sexual assault against &/or otherwise disturbing the peace of a Petitioner (the individual filing the request). 

*Missouri law requires a Petitioner to be at least 17 years of age to file for an Order of Protection. Parents or guardians may file A Child Order of Protection on behalf of a minor child (or children) if any of the above acts have been committed against the child or children & the respondent is 17 years of age or older.

One or more of the below stipulations must be true to file for an Order of Protection in St. Louis County:

  1. The petitioner resides in St. Louis County
  2. The respondent can be served with paperwork in St. Louis County; &/or
  3. The offender's acts occurred in St. Louis County

To file in person, please visit the St. Louis County Adult Abuse/Order of Protection Office, located at 105 S. Central Ave. in Clayton, MO. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM & from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays.
