How Does it Work?
The Clayton Police Department's Vacation Check Program is designed to enhance peace of mind for our residents while they are away from home for extended periods of time. The Police Department offers periodic checks of your residence while it is vacant. The information you provide allows us to contact you or your designated emergency contact in the event we discover anything that may need attention.
What are the Benefits of Vacation Checks?
This program is a public service to help safeguard citizens' property and allow for rapid response and owner notification in the event of a problem.
Disclaimer:
Requesting a vacation check does not guarantee that a burglary or other crime or damage will not occur at your residence. This form is intended to be a request of the Clayton Police Department to check your home periodically, based upon the availability of an officer from time to time. Consequently, it is recommended that you make every effort to safeguard against losses including securing high value property, using proper locking devices, alarm systems, etc.
Registration
When possible, please use this online form at least three business days before your departure to notify the police department of your request. We may contact you directly for additional information or clarification as needed. If you arrive home early, please contact the Clayton Police Department to stop the scheduled vacation checks.
