Section 505.125 of Clayton ordinances allows mobile food vending within the City only for City-sponsored events as well as private events. To bring a food truck or trailer to your event, please complete the Special Event Permit Application. 

To operate at events in Clayton, Mobile Food Vehicle operators must comply with the St. Louis Metro Fire Marshal's Association Model Food Truck Ordinance as based off of the 2018 Ed. IFC. Proof of compliance can be completed in one of two ways:

1. Obtain an annual fire safety inspection certification from the City of St. Louis and display the sticker on the vehicle. Instructions for obtaining the certification.

2. If the vendor elects not to obtain a fire safety certificate through the City of ST Louis, they need to obtain an “Operational Permit” from the Clayton Fire Department. View full requirements.
