Thank you for your interest in having an event in Clayton. A limited number of events are approved each year based on the City’s event guidelines/policies. Apply for an Event Permit via the City of Clayton Citizenserve Permitting Portal. Please Click HERE for a tutorial on applying using the portal.
Events are defined as a temporary gathering that may use either public or private property and may include any of the following:
- Closing a public street (Includes parades and block parties)
- Blocking or restricting public property or limiting the use of public parks or streets by the general public (this includes runs and walks)
- Offering merchandise, food or beverages on public or private property where otherwise prohibited by ordinance
- Erecting a tent on public property or on private property where otherwise prohibited by ordinance
- Installing a stage, band shell, trailer, van, portable building, grandstand or bleachers on public property or on private property where otherwise prevented by ordinance
- Placing portable toilets on public property or on private property where otherwise prevented by ordinance
- Placing temporary no parking signs in a public right of way
- Charging a fee or donation for attendance or participation

If you would like to submit an application for an event, you may do so by using the online Special Event Permit Application. There is no fee to apply, but those events that are approved will require a $25 permit fee.
