Clayton Fire Department Fire Chief John Paul Jones is pleased to announce the promotion of Firefighter/Paramedic John Herr to the rank of Lieutenant Medical Officer Effective May 1^st, 2020.

Lieutenant Herr holds an Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Technology from East Central College.  He is a 13-year veteran of the fire service, 7 with the City of Clayton Fire Department.  On top of numerous awards, accomplishments, and certifications Lieutenant Herr also serves as the Fire Department AHA coordinator and the Coordinator of the City of Clayton’s S.T.A.R.S. program.  He has been assigned as the shift Medical Officer on B-crew.  Details for the formal promotional ceremony are still pending.
