Roles and Duties
The purpose of the City of Clayton Non-uniformed Employees Pension Plan is to provide retirement income benefits to assist eligible employees in attaining retirement security.
The Non-uniformed Employees Retirement Pension Plan is a defined benefit pension plan. The Plan Administrator is the Non-uniformed Retirement Board of Trustees which contains seven members comprised of three members who are residents of the City and are appointed by the Board of Aldermen, who serve three-year terms; two members who are elected by the participants in the Plan from different offices or departments and serve two-year terms; and two members from the Board of Aldermen, one of whom may be the Mayor, who serves at the pleasure of the Board of Aldermen. The Director of Finance of the City serves as an ex-officio member of the Board of Trustees without the power to vote and as its Secretary-Treasurer.
The Non-uniformed Employees Retirement Board elects its own Chairman and Vice Chairman.
The staff liaison is the Director of Finance. The Administrative Secretary to the Director of Finance maintains the Board's files and performs clerical duties as needed.
