In honor of Black History Month, Donna Rogers-Beard will present her research into the history of Clayton’s African-American community. A retired educator, Ms. Rogers-Beard taught Social Studies in the region since the late 1960’s and began her work at Clayton High School in 1990. In 2006, the Missouri Council for the Social studies named her Social Studies Teacher of the Year. Ms. Rogers-Beard has examined the subject of Clayton’s displaced African-American residents for many years. Her extensive research will be included in an upcoming book on the subject.
